In the name of God amen. I David Whitney of the County of Southampton and state of Virginia being sick and weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory, do make and ordain my last will and testament in manner and form following. Item in the first place. My will and desire is that my Negro Girl be sold for the purpose of paying my just debts and should that fail to be sufficient to discharge the same, my Will that as much of me perishable estate such as my wife can best spare, be sold for the purpose of discharging the same. Item after the payment of mine just debts as above mentioned, our land my beloved wife Nancy Whitney all my whole estate widowhood. Item after the death or widowhood of my wife Nancy Whitney, I've been give and bequeath unto my son William Whitney all the lands that I am possessed of, and one Negro boy named Elbert, bar is paying all my daughters namely Polly Whitney, Caty Whitney, Elizabeth Whitney and Louisa Whitney, the sum of fifty dollars each One, which money is to be paid to them by William as soon as he becomes possessed of the property. Item and after the death or widowhood of my wife Nancy, my will and desire is that all the rest of my property of every kind whatsoever not heretofore given away or named, be equally divided among my four daughters, namely, Polly Whitney, Caty Whitney, Elizabeth Whitney and Louisa Whitney,. And lastly, I hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Nancy Whitney and my friend James Jones my Executor and Executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and disannulling all other wills by me heretofore made.
